استئصال العقد اللمفية

This is a procedure performed to remove some of the lymph nodes when treating cancers like melanoma, breast, head and neck, thyroid, lung, gastric and colorectal cancer. The lymph node, or group of lymph nodes, are removed and then analysed for the presence of cancerous cells. This treatment helps prevent the spread of the cells and also helps to diagnose at what stage the cancer is at.
