Parkinson’s disease is a common disorder in neurodegenerative diseases such as Huntington’s disease or Alzheimer’s. As such, this disorder causes progressive deterioration of certain brain functions in patients who present various symptoms: tremors in the arms, legs and face; stiffness of limbs; impaired balance and movement; depression; slurred speech; urinary problems; among others. Depending on the patient the disease will manifest in a more or less serious way. Typically, this condition develops slowly in people from 55 to 65 years of age, and treatment is based on symptom control, as there is no cure for Parkinson’s disease.
